How to Claim Your Business on Yelp

If you haven’t done so already, it’s time to add your home inspection business on Yelp. The go-to business review app has reached 93.07 million unique mobile visitors. That should have lit a fire under your pants to go add your business profile. There’s a good chance you’ve been missing out on a lot of new customers.

Secondly, you need to add your business before someone else does. While it may be unlikely that a competitor would create a business profile and wreak havoc. You don’t want just anybody trying to take over your Yelp profile and responding to customers and putting the wrong information on your profile.

Ok, so how do you add it?

  1. To get started, first make sure that your home inspection business is not already listed. If you search and discover that your business is already on Yelp, you need to make sure that you can claim it as your own.

2. After searching you can scroll through the results to try and find the listing for your home inspection company. If you find your business you can click the red button to claim it or take action on reclaiming it. To do so, click the ‘Reclaim This Business’ button to contact Yelp.

3. What happens if your business is NOT listed? Great! All you have to do is fill out your business’s information and you’ll be set. Scroll to the bottom of the results page where you searched for you business and follow the link to get added to Yelp.

Just follow the link ‘Add your business to Yelp’ to create your business profile on Yelp.


4. Fill out your information- address, phone number, hours of operation, link to website, and your email. You will also need to type ‘home inspector’ inside the categories box so that your company is placed in the correct category on Yelp. Boom! You’re done. Yelp will send you a verification email and you’ll be all set.
